War Story:
CW3 Ishihara, James Hiroshi was a passenger on USMC H-34 145747 or 145085 during a rescue attempt of downed Army aviators, in the mountains west of Da Nang a HMM-162 aircraft exceeded their power capabilities, lost lift, crashed and burned. CW3 Ishihara was already on the aircraft. He died in the aircraft. Major David Webster a pilot aboard the MC aircraft died of burns before being rescued. The other pilot Major Demko and the crew chief suffered burns but were rescued. Demko later died on Feb 5, 1968 on his second tour with HMM-364.
