Operation DELAWARE
Thua Thien Province, I Corps, South Vietnam
Location, A Shau Valley
Description: Prior to DELAWARE/LAM SON 216, the 1/9th Air Cav worked the A Shau Valley. Their reconnaisance was followed with many Marine and Air Force air strikes plus B-52s. They alerted the 1st Cav Div to the heavy NVA antiaircraft fire in the valley. These were some of the last days of good flying weather which was terrible during most of DELAWARE
